We’re very excited to be exhibiting at the Borders Art Fair from the 16th to 18th of March at Springwood Park in Kelso, TD5.
“Live art demonstrations, over 50 exhibiting artist stands, creative talks and discussions, our ‘local heroes’ exhibition, competitions, food and drink and, a whole lot of fun for all ages!”

We’ve been busy! We have been designing and compiling a Borders Gallery guide. It features local galleries, gallery workshops and art venues spread right across north Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. The new guide will be available from featured galleries and in tourist info places from March.

It’s our first Christmas and we’d love if you could join us on Saturday 2nd of December for a glass of wine to celebrate!
6th September
It’s been lovely to welcome so many visitors to the Hirsel over the summer. Did you know that we’re open all year? Our Christmas gift and decor ranges will be arriving at the beginning of October so don’t forget us for your Christmas shopping!
15th April – Grand Opening Weekend

13th April:
The children of Coldstream Primary School recently took part in a competition to design a postcard of their favourite thing about the Hirsel Estate. The winning designs by Ellie Scobie, Erin Younger and Jena Bruce are for sale in the gallery and all profits will be donated to Coldstream Primary School.
19th March:
We are open!! The gallery opened on Friday 17th March and despite the drizzle, the support has been amazing. We’ll be having our official opening over the Easter weekend – more details will be announced soon!
12th March:
It’s been like Christmas over the last couple of weeks with deliveries arriving on a daily basis. We’re lucky to have so many talented people exhibiting with us. Not long now until we open!
25th February: The Gallery is ready and waiting for the beautiful local craft work which will start to arrive next week!
17th February: we’ve almost finished fitting out the gallery. The main shelving units are up and the rest of the cabinets and furniture have been built. The jewellery cases are on the wall and the floor plinths are in the process of being painted. It’s really starting to come together!
3rd February: a very productive week. Thanks to some very kind volunteers, we were able to get the gallery painted this week and its now a lovely warm and welcoming space.
We also had the very first meeting of our lovely new team of gallery staff.
28th January: a very busy week in the gallery! Now that the heating system has been fixed and the joinery work completed, we’ve been able to clean the gallery from top to bottom ready to be painted next week. We’ve had some lovey volunteers pitching in to help.
16th January: And so it begins – the start of a very exciting year for us here at The Hirsel Gallery!
